UW MBA Consortium: Online Course Revisions & Development

Course Revision Levels

Level Type Description Rate/CR
New Course Development Create a new online course. $5,000
Ongoing Course Maintenance In General:

  • Requires 10 hours or less
  • Part of normal preparation to teach

Includes but not limited to: 

  • Instructor information update
  • Calendar creation
  • Test creation or modification
  • Testing/updating links
  • Checks for old dates
  • Setup up of hidden/time release documents
  • Welcome message update/creation
  • Update of any readings
  • Update of any simple media
$0
Level One Revision In General:

  • Requires 10-20 hours per credit
  • Involves a book or major materials update
  • Results in changes to about 1/3 of the course

May include but not limited to: 

  • Change in instructional materials: new text/edition, updated articles, original instructional materials, etc.
  • Update objectives, assessments, etc. to reflect instr. materials changes
  • Introduction or update of some media
$750
Level Two Revision In General:

  • Requires 20-30 hours per credit
  • Results in changes to about 2/3 of the course

May include but not limited to: 

  • Analysis of course/unit objectives to assure alignment with instructional materials and assessments
  • Creation of new cases/projects
  • Any necessary course reorganization
  • Commentary rewrites
  • New discussions
  • Addition/analysis of rubrics
  • Media implementation and integration
$1,500
Level Three Revision In General:

  • Requires 30-40 hours per credit
  • Results in changes to 2/3 or more of the course

May include but not limited to: 

  • Analysis of course/unit objectives to assure alignment with instructional materials and assessments
  • Creation of new cases/projects
  • Any necessary course reorganization
  • Commentary rewrites
  • New discussions
  • Addition/analysis of rubrics
  • Media implementation and integration
$2,500
Level Four Revision In General:

  • Requires 40 hours or more per credit
  • Results in changes to the entire course

May include but not limited to: 

  • Analysis of course/unit objectives to assure alignment with instructional materials and assessments
  • Creation of new cases/projects
  • Any necessary course reorganization
  • Commentary rewrites
  • New discussions
  • Addition/analysis of rubrics
  • Media implementation and integration
$4,000
